Price Hike at Hyderabad Zoo Park

Hyderabad's Nehru Zoological Park (Zoo Park) has announced a significant hike in entry fees and charges for various services, effective from April 1, 2024. The price increase, which includes charges for entry tickets, camera permits, safari rides, and parking, aims to improve park management, facilities, and animal care. Despite the burden on tourists, officials clarified that the hike is necessary for maintaining the park's operations and enhancing the visitor experience.

Price Hike at Hyderabad Zoo Park

The Nehru Zoological Park (Zoo Park) in Hyderabad has officially announced an increase in entry fees and charges for various services. The decision was made during the 13th Governing Body meeting of the Zoo and Parks Authority of Telangana (ZPAT). The revised rates will come into effect from April 1, 2024, as confirmed by Zoo Park Curator J. Vasanta. Officials stated that the price hike is due to increased maintenance costs, improvements in facilities, and animal care.

According to the latest changes, the entry fees will be ₹100 for adults and ₹40 for children. Additionally, fees for various services include ₹150 for photo camera permission, ₹2,500 for video camera permission, and ₹10,000 for film shooting. For train rides inside the park, the cost will be ₹80 for adults and ₹40 for children, while battery-operated vehicles will charge ₹120 for adults and ₹70 for children. The Safari Park drive will cost ₹150 for the AC bus and ₹100 for the non-AC bus. Special vehicle charges for a 60-minute ride will be ₹3,300 for an 11-seater vehicle and ₹4,000 for a 14-seater vehicle.

The parking charges for vehicles visiting the Zoo Park have also been revised. The new parking fees are ₹10 for bicycles, ₹30 for two-wheelers, ₹80 for autorickshaws, ₹100 for cars or jeeps, ₹150 for tempos or SUVs, ₹200 for 21-seat mini buses, and ₹300 for larger buses. Although this increase may be burdensome for tourists, officials have clarified that the hike is essential for the improvement of the park’s management and animal care.
