A Look Ahead: Apple's 2026 Product Roadmap

Apple's product pipeline for 2026 is packed with ambitious upgrades, new categories, and a major shift in software strategy. From the long-rumored foldable iPhone to a smarter Siri powered by generative AI, the company is preparing to refresh nearly every major product line. This guide aggregates the most credible rumors and analyst predictions to provide a comprehensive overview of what to expect throughout the year.

WWDC 2026: June 8 – Software and Siri Overhaul

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference will kick off on Monday, June 8, with a keynote that sets the stage for the next generation of its operating systems. The centerpiece is a dramatically improved Siri, which will gain chatbot-like capabilities similar to ChatGPT or Claude. The new Siri will be powered by Apple's own large language model and will be accessible via a standalone app, as well as integrated into the iPhone's Dynamic Island. Alongside Siri, Apple Intelligence will bring AI editing to the Photos app, a new Siri mode for Visual Intelligence in the Camera app, and a wallpaper generation tool. The usual suite of software updates—iOS 27, macOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 10, tvOS 27, and visionOS 3—will be previewed before their public release in September.

September 2026: The Biggest Launch Window

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold

The fall will see the debut of the iPhone 18 Pro, featuring a smaller Dynamic Island and a variable aperture main lens that mimics a DSLR. It will be powered by the A20 Pro chip built on a 2-nanometer process and include Apple's custom C2 modem. A new dark cherry color is rumored. More revolutionary is the iPhone Fold, Apple's first foldable device. With a book-style design, it will unfold from a 5.3-inch external display to a 7.6-inch internal display. At just 4.5mm thick when open, it will use advanced display techniques and a durable hinge to nearly eliminate the crease. The Fold will eschew Face ID for a Touch ID sensor built into the power button, and it may cost as much as $2,500.

iPad mini 8, Apple Watch Series 12, and HomePod mini

The iPad mini 8 is set to receive a major upgrade with an OLED display, a more water-resistant design, a vibration-based speaker system that eliminates speaker holes, and the same A20 chip as the iPhone 18 Pro. The Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to be a minor refresh, primarily a chip upgrade. The HomePod mini 2 is reportedly ready but waiting on the new Siri; it will feature an updated S-series chip and new color options. Meanwhile, the long-rumored Home Hub—a smart home command center with a 7-inch display—will launch in two variants: a wall-mounted model and one with a speaker base similar to the HomePod mini.

Apple TV 4K

The Apple TV 4K will receive a faster A17 Pro processor, enabling console-quality games and Apple Intelligence support. It will also gain a new Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip. No design changes are expected.

Late 2026: OLED MacBook Pro and Smart Home Camera

Apple is developing a touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro with a 2-nanometer M6 chip, a hole-punch camera (eliminating the notch), and a reinforced hinge for stability during touch interactions. This model could launch in late 2026 or early 2027. Additionally, Apple is working on an indoor security camera that integrates with HomeKit and the Home Hub, potentially arriving by the end of 2026.

Products With Unknown Release Dates

Several devices are in development but lack confirmed launch windows. The Mac Studio will eventually get M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, while the Mac mini will see M5 and M5 Pro updates with no design changes. The low-cost iPad 12 is expected to feature the A19 chip from the iPhone 17. AirPods 5 will bring an H3 chip with improved sound quality and lower latency, and the next AirPods Pro may include tiny infrared cameras for in-air gestures, enhancing Vision Pro integration. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is also in the works, though details remain scarce. An M5 Max iMac could revive the iMac Pro line with mini-LED display technology. Finally, Apple is developing AI-powered smart glasses to compete with Meta's Ray-Bans, featuring cameras, speakers, and sensors but no display.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Apple is shifting to a split launch strategy for iPhones: the iPhone 18 Pro and Fold will launch in fall 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will arrive in spring 2027. The iPhone Air 2 will also debut in spring 2027 with a second camera and a lower price. The 20th anniversary iPhone in September 2027 is rumored to have a curved glass enclosure with no bezels, an under-display selfie camera, and no display cutouts. Other 2027 releases include a lighter AirPods Max with the H2 chip, a faster iPad Pro with M6 and vapor chamber cooling, an OLED iMac, and a tabletop robot with a robotic arm.

Apple's 2026 product refresh timeline already includes the AirTag 2 (January), iPhone 17e, MacBook Neo, M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pro, M5 MacBook Air, M4 iPad Air, Studio Display and Studio Display XDR, and AirPods Max 2 (all in March). As the year progresses, the company's commitment to innovation across hardware, software, and services remains evident.
